A friend gifted me an exhibition for my birthday at their studio,
Home of Moh. How many people get an exhibition as a birthday present?
“Mothfly’s work doesn’t begin with the worry of what to paint. Instead, it flows naturally, connecting doodles between consciousness and the subconscious. It carries a dual charm—at times playful like a child’s scribbles, yet other times revealing the layered emotions of modern life. The bold, raw colors often associated with fantasy contrast with the narratives unfolding on the canvas, capturing moments from everyday existence. Even those unfamiliar with art can engage with the work in their own way, without hesitation.”

In a past work, Park Johnber Still Life, I once used a bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon as a vase. That connection led to Woodford Reserve generously sending a large supply of whiskey for the opening. We shared the drinks with everyone who attended.
This exhibition was different—it wasn’t in a gallery or at an art fair but planned together with friends, making the experience even more enjoyable. Moments like these remind me that choosing to be an artist was truly the right decision.
